FAQ

How much does it cost?
For 2018 the entry fees are as follows:
Juniors – £15
Adults – £21
Relay – £30 per team

Can I sign up and register on the day?
No, registration will be open on the Sunday morning for anyone who has already entered but the latest entries can be taken is Saturday the 1st.

Do I need any special kit to take part?
No. If you usually prefer to swim with goggles you will need these. You need some shoes to run in.  You can run in your swim shorts/swimming costume and you will need a t-shirt or top to put on for the run if you are not wearing a tri-suit. That’s it! It is up to you if you want to wear socks on the run or a swim hat for the swim. If you decide to go sockless we’d recommend putting a bit of talcum powder inside your shoes to help prevent any rubbing.  A towel to stand on in transition to help dry your feet is also recommended.

When will registration be open?
Registration will be open from 4:30pm – 6:30pm on Saturday 1st September 2018 and 7:30am – 8:30am on the morning of Sunday 2ndSeptember 2018 for juniors and between 8:30am and 9:45am for Seniors at the Letchworth Outdoor Pool.  Timing chips will be distributed at registration only. We recommend that if possible, you register on Saturday and arrive in good time to manage equipment, set-up transition and to warm-up on the morning of the race.

Can a relay team comprise an adult and a junior?
For safety reasons the relay is only open to teams where both members are aged 15+ (so Youth or Adults).

My son is not 13 until October, can he still race in the 11-12 category?
No. As they will be 13 on the 31st of December 2018 they will be in the 13-14 category.

How early do I have to arrive to lay my run stuff out?

Seniors: The transition area will open at 8:30am and close with no further access at 10:00am so you will need to allow time to have completed registration prior to that.
